I started sharing my food and recipes in July 2017 after some convincing from my boyfriend. I have always loved cooking, trying new recipes, and trying to make healthy food taste just as good as the bad stuff. The first few times he urged me to do it I thought it was sweet, but I would NEVER do it for a thousand reasons. I told myself my page would never be as good as the other food bloggers who have been doing this for years. I told myself I wasn’t skinny enough to post what I ate and no one would want to try my recipes. I even set a weight goal for when I would consider starting to post my recipes, because that’s when I would look good enough for people to be inspired by me. Looking back, I know now that this couldn’t have been farther from the truth.
After a lot more encouragement from my boyfriend, Mitch, I started posting on @broccyourbody without telling anyone. I became addicted to posting new recipes and trying to make my food look beautiful. I told my friends, then posted on my personal Instagram for my other friends to follow me once I had some good content. Although I was nervous to share with almost everyone I knew, I was quickly overwhelmed by the support and positive feedback from my friends and acquaintances. Throughout the past couple months, I have gained so much confidence and have learned to love my body because it is healthy and strong and it can do SO much. I stopped caring what people think and started doing what truly makes me happy.
And this is why @broccyourbody is so important to me. Not just because I get to share and inspire you all with my recipes, but because it has truly made me a better and more confident person and for that I am so grateful!
