This severely unimpressive smoothie bowl represents everything I wanted this blog to be. I wanted to have a food account that wasn’t intimidating to people. A little over a year ago before I started this account, all of my favorite food bloggers were using things like bone broth that cost $12 at Whole Foods and tasted like sweat and they were all putting spoonfuls of butter in their coffee and I thought that’s what I needed to do to be healthy. I started @broccyourbody to show you that healthy food can be found at Vons or your local grocery store, not just Whole Foods and healthy recipes can be made in 15 minutes, not 2 hours.
Not all smoothie bowls have to be art, but this is what I’ve been eating nonstop for the past month and even though I almost didn’t post it because the picture wasn’t “that good,” I’m still doing it because it’s what I’m eating and it’s healthy and it tastes GOOD!
My Everyday Smoothie Bowl
Blend 1/4 frozen banana, 1/3 cup frozen berries, 1/4 frozen zuchinni (can’t taste it, makes it creamier!), 1 scoop @furtherfood collagen or protein powder, 1 tablespoon @pbfit.official power peanut butter or any nut butter, and almond milk (amount depending on the consistency you want your smoothie/less for a thicker smoothie).
Topped with more bananas, raspberries, chia seeds and @traderjoes coconut granola
