Oh. My. God. Jalapeño turkey burgers with sweet potato bunzzz are you kidding me?! This was one of the first recipes I ever posted on this account and it’s crazy how much better I’ve gotten at taking photos since then. You are going to want to make these ASAP and of course for all of my friends that are doing the #byb10daydetox, this is compliant for the first 2 days 🍔 We’re detoxing with burgers y’all!!! Hop on the bandwagon!
Jalapeño Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Buns
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 1/2 white onion minced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 jalapeno minced
- 3 tbsp minced cilantro
- 1/2 lime juice
- 1 tsp salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, and cumin 1 tsp of each
- 1-2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 sweet potato cut into rounds
- 1-2 tbsp everything but the bagel seasoning
- oil spray
- shredded lettuce
Mix the lean ground turkey, white onion, garlic, jalapeño minced, cilantro, lime juice and seasonings together (I use my hands). Form into patties and cook over medium high heat on the stove for about 4 minutes each side. Make sure the pan is hot before you put the burgers on! This gives them a nice outer crisp. You can grill these as well if you want!
Cut one large sweet potato into rounds and spray evenly with oil and season with @traderjoes everything but the bagel seasoning. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes each side until cooked through and crispy on the outside.
Serve with avocado, tomato, shredded lettuce and some hot sauce! Feel free to throw on whatever you want!
Make sure your condiments are Whole30 compliant if you are following the program!
