Choosing Your CBD Soulmate

Health· Uncategorized

So, we all know what CBD is by now since it’s basically EVERYWHERE! Let’s break down some of the basics just to refresh shall we?
  • Cannabidiol (CBD) is a product that’s derived from cannabis but it does NOT make you high because it doesn’t contain THC. Think of it as any other natural supplement you would take.
  • CBD is a powerful stress reliever, anti-inflammatory, sleep aid, pain reliever, and is even being used to treat epilepsy and some forms of cancer. There are no known side effects except it may make you sleepy if you take too much.
  • Everyone is different when it comes to dosages (it’s like asking someone how many drinks you need to get drunk – it can be 1 or 6 depending on the person!), but 10-20 mg is the sweet spot for most people. I take it twice a day, in the morning and before bed.

What to look for when shopping for CBD

First off, you want to make sure that your CBD is THC free (unless you want to get high which is totally great, but no one wants to get high without knowing they are getting high). You also want to make sure that your CBD is organic!! There’s really no point of taking CBD if you are filling your body up with chemicals instead of quality, therapeutic hemp. Also, check to see where they source their CBD and that they guarantee that their dosing is accurate.

Also, just with any other company, make sure they have good customer service and will answer any questions you have. I love smaller companies because they are always so responsive and I always prefer to shop small when I can!

Now that we talked about what to look for in your CBD brand, I want to talk about the brand I use and WHY I use it.
About Sunday Scaries
I use a broad spectrum CBD from Sunday Scaries which contains of all the cannabinoids, flavonoids, and fatty acids found in hemp, which all have great positive effects on your health (as opposed to an isolate which is just CBD). All of the Sunday Scaries products contain broad spectrum CBD, Vitamin B12 for energy, and D3 for immunity. All of their CBD is sourced directly from family owned farms in the good ol’ USA. Here’s a little blurb that basically sums up allll of the key factors that make a reliable CBD source.
Core values:
  • Knowing our suppliers in order to have access to the best ingredients
  • No B.S. and making sure we keep it 100
  • Goldilocks Guarantee ensures our 10mg dosing is just right
  • Miracle vitamins included, like Vitamin B12 and D3
  • We love our customers, we’re sort of obsessed actually
  • 101% organic, our CBD is grown in accordance with the 2014 Farm Bill
So now that we know our brand, let’s pick what products work best for us! The gummies are great for getting warmed up to CBD, mostly because they are easy to dose, convenient and delicious! I eat them for dessert on the reg. If you want the most “bang for your buck” I would definitely suggest the tincture. This is great for travel, keeping in your purse and for higher dosages. Here’s a breakdown of all of their products so you can see which one best suits you!
Their products:
1. Regular Gummies- CBD Gummies:
  • 10mg of CBD in each gummy bear; 20 gummies per bottle
  • 0 THC
  • Taste/look like regular gummy bears
2. Vegan AF- Vegan CBD Gummies:
  • 10mg of CBD in each gummy drop; 20 gummies per bottle
  • 0 THC
  • Taste like Sour Patch Kids, looks like gum drops
3. Tincture- CBD Oil:
  • Multipurpose, can be mixed with food, lotion as a topical, etc.
  • 0 THC
4. YOLO Shots- CBD Energy Shot:
  • Gives you the energy of a cup of coffee, without jitters or anxiety
  • 50mb of CBD; 200mg of caffeine
  • 0 THC
  • Flavors: Sour Fruit Punch, Coconut Lime, and Tropical Pineapple
Tub Cub- CBD Bath Bomb:
  • 50mg of CBD
  • 0 THC
  • Fragrance: Black Raspberry and Vanilla
  • Contains coconut oil, lemon, lavender, peppermint, and orange essential oils
Sunday Scaries is offering their CBD Flight- 1 Bottle of Regular Gummies, 1 bottle of Vegan AF Gummies, 1 bottle of CBD Tincture for 20% off for my followers only!!! It’s the perfect way to get started and see what products you’re into. I personally use all three all of the time, but this is a great way to get acquainted with the brand and trying out CBD!

Sunday dinner 🍋 . Ingredients: 12 oz spaghetti Sunday dinner 🍋
.
Ingredients:
12 oz spaghetti
1 lemon, juiced and zested
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
4 tbsp butter
Freshly cracked black pepper
Kosher salt
Red chili flakes
Parsley to serve
Instructions:
Cook your pasta according to the package- do not strain it! Save about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the grated cheese, lemon zest, and slowly add in pasta water to create a thick creamy paste. Set aside.
Heat a large saucepan over medium heat and add about 1 tsp of black pepper and butter. Once the butter is melted, add about 1/3 cup pasta water to the pan.
Using tongs, add the pasta straight from the water it was cooked in to the pan. Add in the cheese sauce from earlier and combine. Season with salt, pepper, and red chili flakes. Add more pasta water if the pasta looks dry.
Remove from heat and add the lemon juice. Stir to combine and season to taste. Serve with fresh parsley and more cheese!
