CRISPY ORANGE CHICKEN, but make it healthy 🤤 If you’re a Panda Express fan, run don’t walk and make this. Same flavors but WAY more fresh and obviously no sodium hangover. It’s recipes like these that truly prove eating healthy NEVER has to be boring 🙌🏼
Healthified Panda Express Crispy Orange Chicken
- 1 lb organic chicken breasts cut into strips
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 2 tbsp tapioca flour
- avocado oil
- 2 oranges juiced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp sriracha or sambal
- 1 tbsp honey monk fruit sugar, or regular sugar works too
- 1 tsp ginger grated
- 3-4 cloves garlic minced or crushed
- 2 tsp tapioca flour
- rice & veggie of choice to serve
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Coat chicken strips in egg wash then a mixture of almond flour and tapioca flour.
Add avocado oil to coat the hot pan then add chicken. Cook for 2-4 minutes each side (depends on the size and thickness of the chicken). While the chicken cooks, make the sauce.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together all ingredients for the Orange Sauce.
Once the chicken is cooked and crispy on both sides, add the sauce and simmer for a few minutes. The consistency should be thick, but still runny. Serve over rice with veggies of choice! I did roasted broccoli and I also topped everything with sesame seeds.
