It took me a while to think of a cuter name for Beef & Beer Chili. I ended up with just B&B Chili because there’s really no sexy way to name this recipe (if you can think of one let me know lol).
Adding beer to your chili gives it such a unique and delicious flavor. If you’ve never tried it before, you might be hesitant but TRUST ME. You will never go back to regular chili again!

B&B Chili
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb sirloin tips
- 1 white onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 1 20 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1 10 oz can fire roasted tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 15 oz can kidney beans drained & rinsed
- 1 15 oz can black beans drained & rinsed
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 11.2 oz can beer I used Stella
- 1/2 cup water or beef broth optional, see notes
- olive oil
Toppings
- sour cream
- tortilla chips
- shredded cheese
- avocado
- green onion
Instructions
-
Add a drizzle of oil to your InstantPot on saute setting. Add your onions and saute until translucent.
-
Add in your ground beef & sirloin tips to brown.
-
Add in the rest of the ingredients and cook on high for 20 minutes. Use either the quick or natural release.
-
Let cool for about 10 minutes then serve!
Recipe Notes
If you like really thick chili, skip the water or broth. I like to add a little at the end to reach my desired consistency!
You can use just ground beef if you want to skip the sirloin tips.
For a crockpot, saute the onion and beef then add to the crockpot. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours. For a regular pot, cover and simmer on low for at least 1 hour.
