Healthified Panda Express Crispy Orange Chicken


Crispy Chicken:

  • 1 lb organic chicken breasts cut into strips
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 2 tbsp tapioca flour
  • avocado oil

Orange Sauce:

  • 2 oranges juiced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sriracha or sambal
  • 1 tbsp honey monk fruit sugar, or regular sugar works too
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced or crushed
  • 2 tsp tapioca flour
  • rice & veggie of choice to serve


  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Coat chicken strips in egg wash then a mixture of almond flour and tapioca flour.
  2. Add avocado oil to coat the hot pan then add chicken. Cook for 2-4 minutes each side (depends on the size and thickness of the chicken). While the chicken cooks, make the sauce.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together all ingredients for the Orange Sauce.
  4. Once the chicken is cooked and crispy on both sides, add the sauce and simmer for a few minutes. The consistency should be thick, but still runny. Serve over rice with veggies of choice! I did roasted broccoli and I also topped everything with sesame seeds.
