The inspiration behind this sweet treat came from a simultaneous craving for a yummy gooey blondie + banana bread. I decided to just throw in every ingredient that sounded delicious and wound up with one of the best treats I’ve ever had. It comes together so easily in just one bowl! You’ll be SO obsessed with this one!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8×8 square baking pan with parchment paper.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the butter and stir until foamy and browned. If the butter doesn’t start to brown after a few minutes, slowly increase the heat until it browns. Be careful not to burn it!

Immediately take the butter off the heat and add to a large mixing bowl. Add in the brown sugar and whisk until combined.

Add the banana and whisk into the mixture until combined.

Add in the vanilla, peanut butter and egg and whisk again until smooth.

Add the flour, salt, and baking soda and stir until just combined. Do not over mix.

Fold in the chopped peanut butter cups until evenly mixed throughout.

Pour the mixture into the baking pan, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the pan, and bake for about 30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is no longer jiggly.

Let cool for at least 20 minutes (sorry) then cut into bars and serve!

These are a staple for my family. We use Trader Joe’s mini pb cups in it and it’s 🤌🏼
Carissa these are absolutely fabulous and SO easy. Just made them for the first time and oh boy are these trouble. I used chocolate chips so I can only imagine how decadent these would be with the peanut butter cups.
I made these and they are soooo good! They do taste awfully banana-y (which I definitely do not mind!) but that had me wondering, is there an alternative to the banana that I could use so I could make it for people who are not fans of banana as well?
Hi! Glad you loved them. They are definitely a banana forward dessert and have not tried any other replacements. You could try applesauce, but I cannot guarantee the results.
So so good! For those wondering, I have made these multiple times and made a 9×13 pan with doubling the recipe. Bake time is the same. These get devoured in a day!
So yummy! I just wish this was a recipe for a 9” x 13” pan.
These are amazingggg! Is there a way to make them gluten free?
You can use gluten free all purpose flour!
Uh oh. These are so good!!! And so easy to make. Felt like it took no time and barely any dishes. I used gluten free flour blend and they turned out perfect! The challenge now is to not eat them all in the next day. I am going to fail.
These are insane. I’m not normally a good baker but these were really easy. I love the soft texture and the addition of the peanut butter cups. Sooo good!
Sooo good! They were gone in less than 24 hours. So easy to make and a great way to use up bananas going overripe. I was excited to make them so i just used regular chocolate chips but I’ll be making these again this weekend with the peanut butter cups. Make these asap!
Comes together super easily with lots of pantry staples. Very peanut buttery (which i love) with the peanut butter and peanut butter cups.
