Literally if an In N Out double double and frisco melt had a baby sent straight from the heavens, this would be it. SO DAMN GOOD and doesn’t send you straight into a food coma after which is key. Slathered this baby in my version of In n Out’s spread and oh my wowww. Heaven.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb organic ground beef
- 2 slices bacon diced (optional)
- Salt & pepper
- 1/2 white onion sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 cheddar cheese slices
Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tbsp relish I didn’t have any so I minced pickles
- 3 1/2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp coconut sugar or regular
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Start my caramelizing your onions in olive oil over low heat for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Combine your beef, bacon, salt and pepper and form into 4 patties. Press the center of the patty with your thumb as the center will rise as it cooks! Cook over medium heat on a grill or oiled cast iron pan for 3-4 minutes each side. Once you flip, top with cheese and cover until it melts.
- Remove patties from the pan then add your buttered bread until crispy. .
- Assemble your melt by adding the burger, onions and spreading on the sauce.
